First, don’t shop when you’re emotional or when you’re really stressed. Because of the situation it’s so easy to use shopping as a way to feel better.
Second, don’t put yourself in situation when you’re bored. Find something else to boost the mood.
Third, shop with a very specific list. When you shop without a list, you can do a lot more impulse purchases, but when you make a list and not just generic list but a very spesific list.
Fourth, embrace aspects of minimalism. Out of all of the tips, the one thing that helped you the most is becoming more of a minimalist.
Fifth, Don’t shop with friends that push you to buy things that you don’t need.
Sixth, remind yourself of your financial goals before you go shopping. Ask yourself if you already own something that serves the same purpose.
