Dimas Baron, Nadhira Amira, Blue Ambrose all three of them are in the same school, but the difference is Dimas and Nadhira are in the same class that is the acceleration class or if the term in their school is CIBI class (Smart Special, Special Gifted). While Biru is in the regular class and becomes their senior, the term in their school is called the Agit / school ruler.
Initially Nadhira hated Dimas, because the words of his schoolmates in junior high school, then Nadhira and Dimas entered the same school, Nadhira who was happy when she saw herself ranked one place above Dimas, became the beginning for Dimas to hate him.
But it was unfortunate for Nadhira, a year with Dimas in the same class, there was a strange vibration that he felt when Dimas looked at him sharply, and Nadhira knew that Dimas was not what he thought he was. There was a feeling in Nadhira’s heart for Dimas, but unfortunately Dimas still continued to hate and stare at her dislike for Nadhira.
There was one incident that made the two of them closer, Dimas realized that his hatred with Nadhira had been unwarranted. After the relationship between the two became closer, Nadhira became acquainted in an unexpected way with a figure named Blue, he was one level above Nadhira. Their first meeting was when Nadira was in the rain and Blue put an umbrella over him. From this beginning Nadhira knew Blue. Who does not know Blue, one school all knows the figure of Blue. Blue is a gang leader, the twelfth grader who is the most feared.
When his relationship with Dimas was blessed by the universe, his meeting several times with Blue made Nadhira’s view of Blue’s figure different from other people’s views. Blue keeps a sadness and full of secrets. If Dimas and Nadhira are both struggling in the acceleration class, then Biru and Nadhira are both literary enthusiasts, both are equally good at playing words (making poetry)
Petjah is a teen fiction novel because it tells about a high school teenager. Nadhira, Biru, and Dimas are the main characters in this novel. This novel not only carries the genre of teenage love, because to be honest I look more at the theme of friendship and family. This novel is a debut novel from Oda Sekar Ayu, for the debut novel in my opinion this novel can be said to be successful, because this novel has a strong theme, a clear storyline, characters who are also strong, and the end of the story is not easy to guess. The author manages to present a conflict of stories that is quite complex for the size of a high school child and provides a good solution.
I love the cover of this novel. The first time I saw it I immediately wanted to buy it, I don’t know, maybe because I liked the rain, so I was immediately attracted to collect this novel. At first, I thought I would tell a story about a girl who likes rain because of the front cover image, but it turns out I was mistaken, the female character played by Nadhira actually didn’t really like the rain, because the rain reminded her of her brother.
The writer mostly uses forward plot, only a few uses backward plot, and even then only as an amplifier of the characters in the story. The point of view used by the writer mostly uses the point of view of the character of Nadhira, so that the reader will easily feel every emotional change from Nadhira.
This novel is not only focused on the romance of the three main characters, this novel also manages to present the lives of students from accelerated classes who are pursued by learning targets that are extreme enough to meet their learning targets.
The language used by the author is indeed changing, sometimes using me, me, and even often using slang word. For me it’s not too problematic, anyway I can still enjoy reading this novel. The author will usually use the word “ gue/aku- lo/kamu” when there is a conversation between Nadhira and Blue, while the writer will use slang when Nadhira with her friends at school. There are also some school- style slang terms used by the writer, but the reader does not need to fear of misunderstanding, because there are footnotes provided,so that it will not be confused.
