Many people don’t know how to interact with other people that we can give the influence to them, even though a leader must be give the influence to other people when interactive. Dale Carnegie came to give methods on how to influence altruism. Dale Carnegie is a motivator in many fields, like self development and interpersonal skills, so he writes this book.
Although Carnegie has passed away. but, his thoughts are still important and could be applied in the digital era. The point of Carnegie’s doctrine is Altruism / pay attention to other people’s interests. The example from Carnegie’s doctrine / Altruism is building the critical manner and giving negative comments, more giving appreciations. Many people are too easy to give negative comments and it is easy to see other people’s mistakes. Whereas, critics will put someone in a defense position and usually can make that person look for justification rather than doing changes. While, appreciative manners will give motivation and encouragement to do better so that it can get appreciative remarks again.l
The other / Another example is being a good listener and full of attention. Dale stated, if we want to be more preferred in socialization, be enough to be a good listener. Many people just talk without listening so as when we can be a good listener, other people will be comfortable with us.
Another way to be an influencer, according to Dale, is to talk about interesting things and important things for our interlocutors. We will see in building up the networking if we adjust this trait, because every person definitely wants to talk about the topic that they liked. When we succeed in adjusting this trait, comprehensive networking will be obtained.
The advantage of this book is teaching about things which can make us more influenced / take effect in front of other people. Besides that, even though the writer has been a long time has passed away. but, his suggestion is still relevant to be applied even in the digital era. The deficiency / lack of this book is that the language is too heavy, so it is difficult to understand.
I recommended this book, because this book is worth reading, especially for employers. Because this book will increase the relationship between a work partner or even the surroundings.
