Chicago is the second work after The Yacoubian Building that became a byword. This book was written after the events of 11 September, by Alaa Al-Aswany. He was born, grew up, and studied in Egypt, but later settled and chose to live in Chicago, United States.
Chicago presents an unusual, unique, but often love story experienced by human children, and is always alarming, hatred, great ambition and living in a very foreign, but so touching. Between victory and failure, opportunity and oppression of small drama and big dreams.
In my opinion, this book is very interesting, because there are two cultures, namely Arabic and American contradictions. This novel received many international awards.
